The holiday of a lifetime in Gozo island.
Gozo has always fascinated so many people. Charm, history, culture, sea, greart food, village feast, traditions, and the awesome hospitality at hotels, boutique hotels, guest houses, apartments and the amazing abraham gozo farmhouses for rent
In this article you will learn how Gozo clebrates christmas in-style. There are a large number of reasons why you want to visit this island. It might be that you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Malta (yeah, Malta has become too crowded) or you want to enjoy the clear blue sea. Perhaps you want to go on a diving trip or just relax, and watch the sun come up and go down. O and we did not mention the history. A visit to Citadella is a must and you cannot miss historic places like the ggantija temples and Xewkija church (the rotunda)
Weather in Gozo
Summer (May-Sept) the temperature can varry from 30 degrees to a boiling 40 degrees. Yeah you heard right. 40 degrees, so so hot man. On the flip side, the weather in winter is not very cold, can go down to 4 or 6 degrees BUT the average temerature is 20 degrees I would say. In winter (besides christmas) there’s not that much going on, on the island. Most young people cross the ferry every day to go to work, and a lot of them live close to university in Malta because it is convenient for them.
Summer in Gozo
And there is a large number of reasons to visit Gozo in Summer. The village festa. A century old tradition where each village will celebrat the patron saint of their church. The most famous festa is on the 15th of August, Santa Maria. Watch a video here. The ideal holiday would be to hire a Jeep and go beach hopping from Dwejra to Hondoq. Then go have a nice dinner in Xlendi or Marsalforn. These are small towns just off the beach, with a nice view.
Other things to do in Gozo
Watch the horse races. Almost every village does horse races during the festa week. Wine tasting is also a great event. There is the wine festival at Nadur in September every year organised by Delicata LTD. For more info about activities and dates in Gozo visit the official tourism website VisitGozo
