Hundreds peacemakers come together in Bali

Hundreds peacemakers from thirties countries come together in Ubud Bali, to yell the important of peace on the world through "Quest for Global Healing II" (QGH). This event is held from May 3-8, 2006.

“From the bottom of our heart we all are understood that the peace is very expected by all people on the world. Every people on the world hope the world must change,” stated Marcia Jaffe one committee of QGH event, in Ubud, about 26 km to north Denpasar.

The meeting is presented by the peace figures such Desmond Tutu (South Africa) the Nobel Rewarded in 1984, and Betty Williams (North Ireland) the Nobel Rewarded in 1976.

Marcia stated, the situation in the world that full of war, violence, and starvation, made many people on the world especially innocence children are suffer. In Bali for example, the bombing in 2002 and 2005 caused many innocence people became victim of the terrorism. “Bali is beautiful, Bali is a part of my hearth. When Bali were bombed, the world are sorrowful,” stated Marcia.

Desmond Tutu, who was an Archbishop in South Africa, stated as the result of conflict in some countries many innocence people become the victim. While the bureaucrat seem enjoyed the wars.

“War is just a suffering. Violence is just bringing a misery. So both of that bad thing must be eliminated from the world,” stated Tutu. Desmond Tutu explained peace is hoped by all of the people on the world. With peace the people can life together with others from all over the world. - BB -
