Fast Food in Bali

Bali has a selection of fast food outlets for those people who can't live without it. Among the more prominent companies are McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, A & W, Dunkin Donuts, StarBucks and BreadTalk. The location of these restaurants is always in city areas and usually in tourist areas. A stroll through Kuta Square, to Jl. Kartika Plaza will take you past KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut.

McDonald's:
According to McDonalds website, there are no restaurants in Indonesia, but I can assure you they are here. McDonalds can be found at Kuta Square, Jl. Legian in Legian, Jimbaran on the Bypass, Sanur Bypass and on Jl. Pantai Kuta at Kuta Beach. I'm sure there are others but official info in hard to find. I don't eat at McDonalds so am not really am expert on their menu or prices. If you even care about what's on McDonalds menu be sure to check it out when you go into a McDonalds in Bali.

KFC:
Here is a page with info on KFC in Bali. The menu includes chicken pieces, including a chicken bucket, chicken sandwich, spaghetti, and as in every Indonesian restaurant, nasi (rice). You can find some outlets in Sanur, Kuta, Denpasar.

Pizza Hut:
This American pizza chain has a website to allow diners to gain information to their product. I know there are 3 locations in Bali, at Jl. Kartika Plaza, Jl. Pantai Kuta and Jl. Diponegoro in Denpasar. Ika and I went a couple of weeks ago and what showed up was something that looked like a pizza, had tasty sauce on, but after a couple of bites, was obviously not pizza, more like fluffed up bread. They try hard with the kids giving out balloons, but the food will give you guy ache. My'fruit punch' had so much sugar in I could drink 2 gulps.

A&W:
This American chain has some outlets in Discovery Mall Jl. Kartika Plaza - Kuta and Jl. Pantai Kuta, between Mades Warung and the beach. The staff are always smart and polite. A&W started out with root beer and branched out to burgers.

Dunkin Donuts:
This donut & coffee shop is popular with tourists and locals. I have been in the one in Kuta before and they had no coffee, unbelievable, but true. DD serves an array of cheap donuts in dozens, or single. You can find them all over including Poppies II & Jl. Legian, By Pass Sanur, Jl. Gatot Subroto and even in Gianyar on the main street. I love the way their homepage has a rotating picture of a cop car in it. That's the ultimate donut cliche.

Starbucks
This Starbucks Coffee Company is the leading retailer, roaster and brand of specialty coffee in the world.
Perfect for those of you who take your coffee to go. The delicious combination of Starbucks espresso and rich cream conveniently packaged for your busy lifestyle. You can find an outlet in Discovery Mall, Jl. Kartika Plaza - Kuta.

BreadTalk

Fast food in Bali exists mainly to serve package tourists their daily fat portion. In the Kuta area you can find all the above, and whether its an Aussie family or a bus load of Koreans, the fast food chains are like crack dealers to dopes. Indonesian tourists themselves indulge and the halal sign, that is displayed in some form or another, means the meat has been killed in accordance with Muslim tradition.

Most of the fast food places in Bali do not open super early, maybe 8am and close around midnight at the latest. - BB -
