Bali to host PATA Travel Mart 2007

PATA Travel Mart 2007 (PTM07) will take place in Bali, Indonesia. September/October 2007 dates will be announced soon. Bali hosted PTM in 1985 and 1989 and the 53rd PATA Annual Conference in 2003. Jakarta hosted PATA Annual Conferences in 1963 and 1974. Indonesia is keen to once again host a world-class travel trade event.

The Future of Air Transport

Although this was well below the 15.3% growth recorded in 2004, the result confirms that the industry is returning to a more normal growth pattern after the shocks of the last few years.

In response to Bali's latest terrorist attack and calls from Bali's Chief of Police to enhance "community policing," the people of Sanur Community Village have begun independently installing CCTV surveillance cameras at key locations within their neighborhood.

Bali is by far Indonesia’s most important tourism destination. In 2004, it accounted for 1.5 million (29%) of Indonesia’s 5.3 million inbound visitor arrivals – 50% more than the capital, Jakarta. And if only guests in commercial accommodation are considered, Bali’s share of foreign tourism was even greater, at 43%.
