Tanah Lot - Bali International Kite Festival 2006

Every year when the winds are growing strong, kites will decorate the sky in Bali. For this year, Bali is proud to be the host of the Bali International Kite Festival that will
take place at the premises of Tanah Lot Temple, which is located just west of Tabanan City in West Bali.

The five days event will be held from 12 till 16 August, 2006. This Kite event will see participating kite fliers from 10 countries worldwide. Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, France, USA, Japan, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium will all send participants to play their kites on the island of Bali.

Various shaped and decorated kites from kite clubs and individual players will go into the competition to reach the best performance and to win one of the categories, such as: "one sky, one world", "Flying for Peace" and Flying for Ajeg Bali" Numerous other activities will be held to boost this international event. Like: Welcome Party, Opening Ceremony, Kite demonstration from each country, Local Kite demonstration (Bali Kreasi) and Bali’s traditional kites demonstration by "the best ten of the Bali Kite Festival".

1st Day on Saturday, 12 August 2006

19.00 - 22.00 : - Welcome Party, host by The Regent

* Before the activity will be conducted a briefing from the committee to the all participants
* The Distribution of schedule, T-shirt, pin, and name tag

2nd Day on Monday, 13 August 2006

10.00- 11.00:

*The opening ceremony and reporting speech from the director committee
* Report from The Head committee
* Officially opened by the Regent symbolizing by striking the Kulkul or hoist the kite into the sky

11.00 - 13.00 :

* Kites Demonstration from each countries (not stun kite)
* National Kites Demonstration
* Local kites Demonstration (Bali Krasi)

13.00 - 14.00:

* Break lunch box

14.00 - 16.00:

* Controller kites demonstration

16.00 - 17.00:

* Rokakee Challenge

17.00 - 18.00:

* Paint the sky by the kite
* Free flight

3rd Day on Monday 14 August 2006

10.00 - 12.00:

* Bali's Traditional Kites Demonstration from The best of ten Bali kite competition
* At the other yard held Combat kite competition
* Buggy kite competition (hoist the kite into the sky while driving tricycle

12.00 - 13.00:

Break the Muri (Indonesian Museum Record) record category the longest and widest tail's kite (200 meters long and 7 meters width)

13.00 - 14.00:

* Lunch Box

14.00 - 15.00:

* Free flight for abroad participant category "One sky one world".

15.00 - 16.00:

* Free flight from Indonesian category "Flying for peace".

16.00 - 17.00:

* Flight for Local participants, category "Ajeg Bali"

18.00 - 21.00:

* "Flight Night" guidance under Fire Work

4th Day on Tuesday 15 August 2006
